Platinum recording artist CeCe Winans has been in the studio working on what may be the finest cd of her career. In the vein of her 1995 Grammy-winning, platinum cd “Alone in His Presence,” the lush new worship project is called “Throne Room.” The project will release on September 9th via the PureSprings/Epic/INO recording labels. Winans re-teamed with the producers of the former cd, Cedric & Victor Caldwell, to produce the latter. Winans co-wrote six of the songs and penned the title song with gospel legend Andrae Crouch. This is a very intimate album born out of Winans’ personal worship time. The first eight songs are Songs of Worship and Reflection and the last eight are Songs of Praise and Adoration. “Throne Room is a concept I believe the Lord put in my heart,” Winans explains. “This is a seed that He planted in me to produce songs that would usher His people into the throne room of God…a lot of people don’t know how to worship and I believe this cd will teach people how to worship in song.”

There are many exciting happenings in Winans’ world right now. She follows this project with a spring 2004 multi-format pop cd. Her Grammy-winning 2001 cd “CeCe Winans” was just certified gold (sales of 500,000 units). To support the project, Winans is embarking on a multi-city church tour and on October 9th will headline a Trinity Broadcasting Network (TBN) worship television special featuring PureSprings Gospel artists Vicki Yohe and the Born Again Church Choir at 10 p.m. EST. An aggressive pre-order campaign is in place with select retailers and fans can pre-order from the www.cecewinans.com website before August 31st. The first 100,000 to purchase “Throne Room” will receive a free bonus DVD that features an interview with Winans, rare performance footage and music videos.
