July, 2008 – On Sunday, October 5, 2008, Elder Horace E. Hockett, Founder and Pastor of Born Again Church & Christian Outreach Ministries in Nashville, TN, will be consecrated as Bishop and formally installed as Overseer of the Kingdom Builders Network by Bishop Tudor Bismark of Jabula - New Life Ministries International. The Consecration service will culminate a three-day celebration of Born Again Church's 30 years of ministry and will be held at the beautiful new Schermerhorn Symphony Center in downtown Nashville at 11:00 a.m.

The weekend celebration is being dubbed "The 858 Experience!" "858" is the numeric equivalent of "HEH" ("H" being the eighth and "E" being the fifth letter of the alphabet respectively) which is an acronym for HOLINESS, EXCELLENCE and HUMILITY, which, along with the Word of God constitute the four foundational principles of Born Again Church. As well, "858" (H.E.H.) is symbolic of Pastor Horace E. Hockett's initials. Further, 858 W. Trinity Lane is the physical address of Born Again Church! Thus, "The 858 Experience!" epitomizes the essence of Born Again Church.

In biblical terms, the number "8" represents new beginnings and "5" represents grace. "The 858 Experience!" is the beginning of a new season of grace—God's enabling power—for Pastor Hockett, the Born Again Church family and the eleven churches in the Kingdom Builders Network, a growing network of churches in four states.

The Itinerary

The three-day celebration will begin Friday, October 3 with a focus on God's HOLINESS. Born Again Church and the churches of the Kingdom Builders Network will come together for a 12-hour prayer, praise and worship gathering titled, "A Call to Ascend." An anointed assembly of musicians, singers, intercessors and ministers will lead participants in worship from 9 am to 9 pm. "A Call to Ascend" will be held at Born Again Church, 858 W. Trinity Lane, Nashville, TN.

Saturday, October 4 will be a time to reflect on God's EXCELLENCE. Presentations reflecting the myriad ways God has blessed Born Again Church to impact lives in Nashville and around the world will be made. The formal banquet has been titled "A Covenant Meal" and will be held at the Sheraton Music City at 7 pm (777 McGavock Pike Nashville, Tennessee 37214).

Sunday, October 5 will emphasize God's HUMILITY. The consecration to the office of Bishop is a manifestation of one of Pastor Hockett's firm beliefs: "The way up is down." Noting that this new level of calling is simply a greater opportunity to serve, Pastor Hockett's example of a lifestyle of humility is the catalyst for the entire ministry to experience a supernatural shift as well. The church will have completed a year-long consecration when the events of October 3-5 conclude.

Since 1978, Pastor Horace E. Hockett has been "making the Word plain" through preaching, teaching and drama. The vision of a church that would manifest God's glory, power and purpose came to Elder Horace Hockett while he was an instructor at Fayetteville State University in North Carolina. He had received God's call to the ministry upon relocating to North Carolina from Nashville after college.

God had called Elder Hockett to deliver His Word and to "make it plain." As Elder Hockett sought the Lord, the Spirit of God revealed His plan in the first of several dreams. In this dream, Elder Hockett was sitting in a field beside a big shade tree. Scattered about the tree were mounds of sifted dirt, with all of the rocks and twigs removed. Elder Hockett had in his hand what looked like an inverted garden rake with the prongs turned upward. As he raked over the mounds of dirt, they became flat and smooth, and he heard the Lord command him to "Just make It plain."
