James Fortune & FIYA's 1st single, "I Trust You," from their current project The Transformation climbs to the #1 spot on this weeks R&R Gospel chart.

After growing at radio 26 weeks, James Fortune & FIYA's "I Trust You" has shifted R&R's Gospel chart where Marvin Sapp's record breaking single held the number one position for more than 6 months.  The new hit single follows in the footsteps of the phenomenal "You Survived," for which James Fortune received the 2006 ASCAP Writers Award.  The Transformation released February 19, 2008 on Black Smoke Music Worldwide and includes "I Trust You" and "The Blood" which received favorable airplay after appearing on an album compilation last year.  

While enjoying the success at radio, James Fortune & FIYA are currently preparing for their first national appearance on Trinity Broadcasting Network's popular "Praise the Lord" programming.  This request was received from Kirk Franklin who will host the show on August 26 in Atlanta, GA and air September 5.  Franklin spent an hour via telephone encouraging Fortune.  "He departed a lot of wisdom to me and told me to stay humble.  He challenged me not to stray away from God as the success of the world crept in and to maintain my spiritual walk and time devoted to Him," says James.   

Adding to the list of exciting forward movement for the group, first round Stellar Award ballot nominations received this week list James Fortune & FIYA in four categories: Group/Duo of the Year, Contemporary Group/Duo of the Year, Urban Inspirational Single or Performance of the Year and Contemporary Choir of the Year.
