Little did three-time Grammy Award nominee and multiple Stellar and Dove Award winner, Dottie Peoples, know that when she adopted this phrase as her personal testimony, it would become the most compelling sentiment of her new CD and debut single, "Do It!," because it heralds two of the most significant and exciting changes in her illustrious musical career.

Growing up the "family songstress," Dottie often performed at school, home and church. One day, shortly after graduating from high school, she caught the ear of Dorothy Norwood while performing at an event in her Dayton, Ohio hometown. Soon after, Ms. Norwood invited her to join The Norwood Singers on the road. At the time, they were a popular gospel act that enjoyed many opportunities the average gospel group of the day couldnā€˜t dream of. From opening for huge acts such as The Rolling Stones and Motown alumni Stevie Wonder, this union exposed her to a side of the business that she never considered.

Incredible opportunities continued to flow in Dottie's direction. Upon relocating to Georgia, she continued in the field of music but as a church music director. That position evolved into an appointment as the General Manager for Church Door Records. As the label successfully grew, she began sitting in the producers seat, adding to her expertise in the music business. She did not stop there! She enjoyed a stint behind the microphone when she became a radio show host.

Dottie's biggest break came when Atlanta International Records (AIR) noticed this mega-talented psalmist and signed her to the fast growing gospel label. While a member of their roster, she released eleven recordings and garnered more than 50 prestigious awards, nominations and recognitions.

Three years ago, not long after Dottie released her eleventh project for AIR, "Live In Memphis", the label created a major buzz in the gospel industry when the announcement was made public that the company had been sold to the Malaco Music Group. Not too long thereafter, as her AIR contractual commitment was drawing to a close, bathed in extensive prayer, Dottie decided to step out on her own by founding the Atlanta-based DP Muzik Group.

DP Muzik Group would become the new home of all of Dottie People's recordings going forward, including "Do It!," the label's debut CD and the next installment to her ever-growing roster of great gospel music. On September 16, 2008, the world would be introduced to this first project under the DP Muzik Group brand and the twelfth of her career. Titled "Do It!," the new CD and the songs therein signify the realization of God's hand in guiding this dream to reality.

At the helm of the production, as with all of her CDs, was the artist, herself. Equipped with a varied cache' of material and her group of dedicated musicians, a refreshingly new Dottie Peoples emerged. With a blueprint from her previous successes, Peoples brought forth not just that traditional "Dottie" style which earned her the title, "Songbird of The South," but also with a fresh new inspirational take on her classic sound that is sure to broaden the scope of this multi-talented singer.

The twelve-song masterpiece is a stunning collection of some of Ms. Peoples' best work ever. The title cut and first single, "Do It!," captures the journey Dottie is currently on as a visionary entrepreneur and label head, celebrated artist, insightful songwriter, consummate producer and anointed minister.

With stand-out songs that include the crowd-pleasing "Without The Cross," a testament to the essence of our faith and "It's Not Goodbye, But See You Later," an emotional tribute in song to her late sister "Tillie," the project allows a broader window to study the real Dottie Peoples. Tracks such as "Its Already Done" is sure to become a praise classic, "There You Are" and the inspirational "I'm Better" are two flagship tracks, familiar in style, yet ground-breaking in flair and creativity. Add the moving track "Be Merciful" and you have a project that surely has something for all!

Now owning 100% of her successful Dottie Peoples brand, it was the path designed by God that has given her, not only the knowledge and foresight, but the willpower and desire to continue being that voice of inspiration to so many.

With a heart for helping her fellow man, she recently accepted a charge from the American Heart Association to serve as "Power to End Stroke Ambassador." In addition, she is the National Spokesperson for Speaking of Women's Health, another health support organization for women. In both roles, it is her desire to educate and inspire the public about the importance of taking care of your health.

Always resplendent in looks and demeanor, Dottie has been chosen to represent the soon-to-be-released Descending Dove Cosmetics and Angel Ambiance Hair Care as their national spokeswoman. Reflecting her internal beauty externally, the marriage between the two is sure to define a high standard of excellence in the marketplace.

Yes, Dottie Peoples is now a label CEO who is a highly regarded, award- winning artist, with a new recording coming in September. As spokesperson and role model for women everywhere, she represents the new breed of businesswoman professional and artist that is taking charge of their career. Placing her career first in the hands of God has made these undertakings much easier because He is the source and she continually looks to Him for direction.

"Whatever you need to do Lord, Do It!" was and is Dottie Peoples' testimony. It is evident that the Lord answered her prayer and has done just that!
